The hardest part of this recipe is unwrapping Rolos.
So you can definitely handle this. That’s also why I saved this until right before Christmas. They are beyond easy to make and taste oh-so-delicious. This isn’t an original idea, I’ve seen it floating around the internet. If you know who came up with it (maybe it is YOU?) or who I can attribute it to, please give me a holler so I can credit it to them.
Let me tell you–these are a crowd-pleaser. Who doesn’t love caramel, chocolate and a little salty crunch? I could eat a million of these suckers.
makes however many you want…or however many Rolos are in the bag
Pretzels (I used the waffle type)
Pecans (or M&Ms if you’re not a nut person…but then they aren’t so much turtles…)
1. Preheat oven to 350*F.
2. Unwrap the Rolos. There is no getting around this part.
3. Lay out pretzels on a baking sheet and top each with a Rolo.
4. Cook in 350* oven for approximately 4 minutes or until Rolo is melty.
5. Press in pecan (see note below) while Rolos are still soft.
Note: I toasted my pecans using my slacker-method: the microwave. Every nut tastes better toasted. Skip this step if you’re really busy, but seriously, 45 seconds in the microwave does the trick.
Verdict: Dangerously addicting.
Husband’s take: I don’t remember his exact words…probably something like, “I could live on these things.”
Changes I would make: Are you crazy? NONE!
Difficulty: Umm…super easy. Super, super easy.
