About this Mojito Milkshake

  • Two summer beverages in one: If a mojito and a vanilla milkshake had a baby, it would be this refreshing summer treat.
  • Alcohol or no alcohol: You can easily make this recipe without the rum and it will still have a great refreshing mojito flavor! This doesn’t have a lot of booze in it, but if you’re not a drinker, you’ll still get a lot of great flavor from the mint and lime and vanilla ice cream without the addition of rum.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup milk (whole milk is best, but you can use other types of milk)
  • 1 oz. white rum
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (zest the lime first)
  • ½ teaspoon lime zest, extra for garnish
  • 1 ½ tablespoons roughly chopped fresh mint leaves, extra for garnish
  • whipped cream for topping, optional

Instructions

  • Add ice cream, milk, rum, lime juice, lime zest, and mint leaves to blender container.
1 cup vanilla ice cream, ¼ cup milk, 1 oz. white rum, 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice, ½ teaspoon lime zest, extra for garnish, 1 ½ tablespoons roughly chopped fresh mint leaves, extra for garnish
  • Blend until smooth. Add more ice cream or milk as needed to achieve desired consistency: more ice cream if the shake is too thin, more milk (or rum!) if it’s too thick.
  • Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of lime zest, and a fresh mint leaf. Serve immediately.
