Peach, Banana, Honey and Cottage Cheese Smoothie
This peach, banana, honey and cottage cheese smoothie is a perfect snack or breakfast for kids and adults. Cottage cheese gives an extra boost of protein!
Saturday was my daughter E’s fifth birthday party. I can hardly believe I’ve been a mom for FIVE years, more if you count the 9 months of “morning” sickness that preceded her arrival.
We did a Frozen themed birthday party for her and it was so much fun. I love having people over and I love working with a theme, especially one that involves hanging snowflakes all over my house. I’ll share more about the party later, but I have to tell you about our visit from Elsa! We hired a company to send out a Princess Elsa and the kids loved it! She sang for them, played a game, read them a book, made balloon animals, and did face painting. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever.
I had so much fun watching E soak in the day, surrounded by friends, family, and great food. Hearing her say, “This is the best birthday EVER!” made all the time and energy I spent planning the party all worth it. A hundred times over.
She’s such a sweetie. She’s smart, sassy, and has the biggest heart. The way she cares for others inspires me to be a better person. I’m so blessed to be her momma.
Plus, she makes a super cute smoothie model, am I right? As does her brother with his irresistible dark brown eyes and deep dimples.
They loved this smoothie made from sweet bananas, frozen peaches, honey and cottage cheese. YES, cottage cheese! It gets super creamy and is a great way to get the kiddos eating more protein. Goodness knows my picky boy needs it!
They both devoured these smoothies and didn’t even have any idea that they contained cottage cheese. They were enamored by a couple of their favorite fruits paired with sweet, sweet honey. Who wouldn’t love that?
Yogurt is great in smoothies, but don’t you think it’s time you try something new?

Husband’s take: He tried this and was surprised when I told him it had cottage cheese in it.
Changes I would make: None are necessary but of course you could try using different fruit if you want.
Difficulty: So easy!

Can you freeze? My Mom is on a pureed diet and I am trying to find things I can make ahead for her caregivers to give her during the day. TY
That should work! It might need a quick blend again when it’s thawed to re-combine everything, but I think it will be fine.
I just made this smoothie and it was delicious omg it was so creamy and yummy I will definitely be making it again
I’m so glad to hear you liked this recipe! Thank you for taking the time to come back and leave a comment!
Ok. Where do I get those cute glasses with the straws?
I think I got those from Zulily, but I found some similar ones on Amazon (affiliate links, no extra cost to you!): These look nearly identical, these come with a super cute carrier, these are also very similar, and these have fun colorful straws but the lids don’t have holes. Hope that helps!
Oh I like this idea! Can people taste the cottage cheese? Do you drink this before you exercise? (I’m a runner)
I couldn’t taste the cottage cheese at all and Ben didn’t know it was in there! And he kept drinking it even after he found out. ;) Not sure about drinking it before running…I’m definitely not a running expert. I think it would be a great post-workout drink though because of all the protein in it.
I’m going to try cottage cheese in my next smoothie!
sounds good
Never in a billion years would I think of putting cottage cheese in a smoothie! What a great idea with these flavors too. And your kids are so darn cute I can barely take it.
Your babies are adorable and that party sounds like a blast! I’ve never seen a smoothie made with cottage cheese. If the kids and your husband didn’t know it was there, maybe it is the new yogurt!
Such cute kids! Hiding cottage cheese in smoothies is such a good idea for getting in an extra protein boost!
Aaw they seriously have the most adorable smile:) Happy belated birthday to E! I am a such a big fan of cottage cheese and love that you used it in these smoothies! Such a great idea!
OMG those kids are adorable, cuties!! :) Cottage cheese in a smoothie is definitely news to me, but I can see how it adds a creamy texture, and I love the health benefits!
Guess what: I’d rather eat cottage cheese vs. yogurt any day of the week. LOVE this recipe! And E’s sweet smile [N’s too]. Happy belated birthday sweet girl!
E is seriously the cutest smoothie model EVER! And Hapyp belated birthday to her!
I LOVELOVELOVE that you used cottage cheese in here. I eat it a lot and it’s so under rated, I think. pinning!
