Add honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar to a small saucepan.
½ cup honey, 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Over medium low heat, bring to a simmer and remove from heat. If time allows, let set for 30 to 45 minutes before using.
If desired, strain out red pepper flakes for a more mild flavor. Leave them in for a spicier honey (preferred method).
Hot Honey #2
For a quicker hot honey, combine ½ cup honey with 1 tablespoon hot sauce, such as Frank’s RedHot.
Microwave for 20 to 30 seconds and stir to combine. Add more hot sauce if desired.

Notes
Yield: This recipe makes about a half cup of hot honey. It's easy to double or triple the recipe if you like.
Storage: Once hot honey has cooled to room temperature, put it into a small jar or container and cover. It will keep for up to six months at room temperature.
Spicier hot honey: Make it spicier with different types of red pepper flakes, or by increasing the amount.
