In a large mixing bowl, mix the frozen hash browns, olive oil, salt and pepper, and any optional seasonings of your choice, until evenly coated.
15 to 16 oz. frozen shredded hash browns, unthawed, 2 tablespoons olive oil, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste, ¼ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper, or to taste, optional seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried herbs
Spread the seasoned hash browns in an even layer in the air fryer basket. It's okay if they overlap slightly but try to keep them in a thin layer for even cooking.
Cook the hash browns in the air fryer at 380°F for 10 minutes. Flip the hash browns, moving the browner edge pieces more into the center. Continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. If you prefer them less crispy, reduce cooking time.
Once the hash browns are cooked to your liking, transfer them to a serving plate and serve immediately.

Notes
Cubed hash browns: If you prefer, substitute cubed hash browns (frozen). They can be cooked the same way.
With onions or peppers: Stir in ½ cup finely diced onions or bell pepper with potatoes, oil, and seasonings. Air fry as directed above.
Double batch: Frozen hash browns usually come in a 30 or 32 oz. bag. I usually air fry about half a bag to make 4 servings. If you want to make a larger batch, you can air fry a whole bag. Use ¼ cup olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, or to taste. Increase cooking time: 15 minutes, stir, 10 minutes more (25 minutes total).
