1/2cuproughly chopped fresh strawberries, additional for garnish
3-4fresh basil leaves, additional for garnish
Optional: whipped cream for topping, red food coloring (see note)
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add more ice cream or milk as needed to achieve desired consistency - more ice cream if it’s too thin, more milk if it’s too thick.
If desired, serve topped with whipped cream, fresh basil, and a fresh strawberry. Serve immediately.
I used a natural strawberry ice cream, so I did add a tiny amount of red food coloring to achieve the pretty pink color since the ice cream was quite white. If you buy a standard type of strawberry ice cream, it may be pretty pink already, especially since you're adding fresh berries. If I wasn't photographing this milkshake, I would have left the coloring out. Personal preference - it doesn't affect the flavor so it's up to you!Nutritional information does not include whipped cream.
