What’s Poppin’

Hi guys!
I’m enjoying a family vacation this week. It’s our second year renting a group of cottages on a lake in Michigan and it’s such a fun week with family. Our family gets one cottage, my sister and her family are in another, my parents are in another, and my in-laws are in the fourth cottage. It’s a great chance to spend a lot of quality time together but still have our own spaces to retreat to. It’s not swanky at all (I’m talking one small step above camping) but the kids have such a blast in the lake and sitting around at the campfire.
Here’s what’s poppin’ this week….
New on the blog this week: Homemade Strawberry Milkshake with Fresh Basil – you are going to love the fresh flavor the basil brings to this! You might not ever go back to a plain strawberry shake!
What you should put on your meal plan for the week: These easy (but impressive) stuffed chicken breasts.
For a cool treat: This ice cream is ridiculously easy to make (no churn!) and these popsicles will have everyone coming back for seconds.
Saving my life: Well, the life of my herbs. These Plant Nanny stakes work AWESOME and are keeping my plants watered while we’re on vacation.
What I’m craving: The kids can’t eat nuts, which makes me crave them even more! This grape salad and these peanut butter cookies are calling my name!
Making me wish for an early fall: This cute and sporty sweatshirt.
Comment that’s making my heart happy: I love hearing when you make my recipes and take the time to come back and leave a comment – it truly means the world to me. This week, Amy made my Homemade Fajita Seasoning and said, “This seasoning was amazing on elk! Left out the peppers as my daughter doesn’t like the heat…she’s a picky eater but kept snagging bites of the cooked meat off the plate before it was served! We adults enjoyed the seasoning as well and will add it to the trusty recipe box. Thank you!” So happy you liked it, Amy! I’ve never had elk!
Something that’s making me think: I read How I Stopped Checking my Phone and Started Using it with Intention this week and I enjoyed the tips the author shared since they seemed like small steps I could take to be more intentional about my time online, instead of just suggesting I put away my phone forever! How about you guys? Do you have any tips for ways to be more intentional about time spent on your phone?
Unsure about: I kind of love this dress but I’m not sure I could pull it off without looking like a frumpy housewife. Thoughts?
Want: These shoes. Such a classic style.
Popcorn recipe we should try: This savory Rosemary Parmesan Popcorn.
