Today’s “a day in the life” is the lovely Paula of bell’alimento. Paula is unbelievably talented. I want to live in her kitchen. Not only because her kitchen is super pretty and shiny and new, but also because everything that comes out of it looks insanely delicious. And the pasta. Oooooh the pasta. I want allllll the pasta.

Tell me about yourself and how you started food blogging.
I was posting what I was making for dinner on Facebook. After seeing my posts, a friend suggested I start a food blog. I of course thought they were nuts I could barely email at that time. They went on and designed me said food blog and I was thrown into the wild wacky and wonderful world of blogging. Almost 5 years later here I am.
7:30 wake up, wake up kids.
7:45 Make breakfast for kids. Pack lunches and get kids off to school.
9:00 Cappuccino and more cappuccino while checking and returning emails.
10:00 Skype with friends while continuing to return emails.
11:00 – 3:00 Cook, Style and Shoot recipes. Head to market for ingredients when necessary and of course lunch in is the mix.
3:00 Pick up kids from school.
3:30 Homework/snack for kids
4:00-6:00 taxi kids to after school activities
6:30 cook dinner
7:30 bedtime routine.
8:30 kids to bed
9:00 editing photos and writing posts.
10:00 Catch up on television, playing Bingo Blitz (yes I’m 85) and winding down with a glass of wine.
12:00 bedtime – ish
What is your one must-have kitchen tool or gadget?
A New West Knifeworks chef knife.
What is your LEAST favorite part of the day? Why?
Morning. I’m not a morning person.
If you could choose one room in your house to spend the WHOLE day in, which room would it be? Why?
My Kitchen and I usually do – ha.
If you could choose one room in your house to remodel (on an unlimited budget!) which room would it be and why?
My basement. It’s in need of some serious design help.
If you had to choose one place to travel to every year, where would it be? Why? Have you been there before?
Italy. Always Italy. Yes, I lived there for 7 years growing up and I try to go back as often as possible.
If you could travel anywhere in the world for free, where would you go and how long would you stay?
Northern Italy. I would spend my summers there. It’s magical.
What recipe on your blog are you most proud of?
What recipe on your blog do your readers seem to love most?
Parmigiano Panko Herb Encrusted Chicken Breasts
What is your guilty food pleasure that you’re embarrassed to fess up to? Kraft Mac & Cheese? Spagetti-o’s? Canned cheese? We promise not to judge!
Double Stuff Oreos. I can’t help myself around them.
What have you found to be the most challenging part of blogging?
Having to juggle wearing so many hats: Photographer, Editor, Social Media Manager, Writer, Dishwasher, etc.
Do you have any advice for someone who is interested in cooking or food blogging?
Cooking should be fun. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Worse case scenario you burn something and have to go out to dinner or make a sandwich.

Thanks Paula! I have a weakness for Oreos too.
