Well hi everyone! I’m still alive in case you were worried (let’s just pretend you were). We are IN our new home! We spent hours upon hours upon hours cleaning it and getting it ready to move into…the previous owners must have been allergic to cleaning but we got it livable in the 3-4 days we had it before we moved in.
There’s still work to be done (always), but now my attention has shifted to getting it presentable for E’s birthday party this weekend. Of course it’s not perfect yet, but if we waiting for perfection before having people over, we’d never entertain. And this house was made for entertaining, especially outdoors on the 3.5 acre lot!
(Small side note, the previous owners let their cats pee repeatedly in the basement so we’ve torn apart a completely finished basement down to the concrete floor and studs (2 feet up the walls), cleaned it and sealed it all. Including the stairs.
And the bathroom and kitchen down there. It’s sad to see all that space unusable right now but we have plenty of space to work with still and now we can make the NON-SMELLY basement our own. So if you have any basement design ideas, shoot them my way! There’s two bedrooms, a main area, a big bathroom, and a small kitchen (it had a microwave, sink, and full fridge).
I’m keeping things simple for E’s party for obvious reasons (not a Pinterest party, for sure!), and I might just add this cherry cheesecake dip to the menu! It takes less than ten minutes to make and it’s very tasty…plus, summer isn’t over yet…right?!?
I’m planning to serve a taco bar with my healthy taco meat (with homemade taco seasoning of course), homemade refried beans, cilantro lime rice, and of course all the toppings and plenty of chips and guac.
About this cherry cheesecake dip:
The base of this dip is made with cream cheese and Greek yogurt. It’s made without marshmallow fluff, because that stuff honestly weirds me out a little. It’s no bake couldn’t be more delish.
Greek yogurt and cream cheese are two of my favorite ingredients, quite honestly. They’re both so versatile and move effortlessly from sweet to savory recipes. For this recipe you can choose full-fat or reduced-fat and still produce an excellent end product.
With the cream cheese and Greek yogurt is a little brown sugar for sweetness and lime juice and zest for flavor. Layered on top is cherry pie filling (I used canned but if you want to make your own, more power to ya!) and additional lime zest. It’s colorful, flavorful and ridiculously easy to make.
I recommend serving this cherry cheesecake dip with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels. Pretzels are my personal favorite because I’m a sucker for any salty sweet combination.

Cherry Cheesecake Dip with Lime (ready in 10 minutes!)
This cherry cheesecake dip with lime is going to become a party favorite. It takes only minutes to make and has fresh and bright flavors thanks to the lime.
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 4 ounces (1/2 cup) plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar (dark brown sugar is used in the dip in the photographs)
- 2 teaspoons fresh lime zest (about 2 limes), divided
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
- Pretzels, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers for dipping
- In a medium sized mixing bowl, use a hand mixer (or stand mixer) to combine cream cheese, Greek yogurt, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon lime zest, and lime juice until smooth.
- Spread evenly onto a serving dish (I used a pie plate). On top of cream cheese mixture, evenly layer cherry pie filling and sprinkle with remaining 1 teaspoon lime zest. Serve with pretzels, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers. Store leftovers in fridge. Can be made in up to 1 day in advance.
- Note: If you use dark brown sugar like I did, your finished product will look like it does in the photos will a slightly brown hue to the base of the cheesecake dip. If you want a whiter look, try light brown sugar or powdered sugar.

Verdict: Loved this stuff. I could have eaten the entire pie plate full!
Husband’s take: He loved this too – no complaints at all from the peanut gallery until I tried to boss him around and tell him that it was best with the pretzels (it is!).
Changes I would make: None are necessary!
