Irish Cream Latte Buttercream Frosting

Irish cream latte buttercream frosting — think of coffee spiked with Bailey’s in a buttercream frosting! Who needs the cake, just bring on the frosting!
Super creamy and decadent (isn’t all frosting somewhat decadent?), this buttercream frosting is so good! Top your favorite cake, cookies, or brownies for an over-the-top treat. Flavored with espresso powder to make you think of a latte, and real Irish cream liqueur, and made with butter and confectioners’ sugar, this frosting is a real treat. You’re going to love it!
But this treat is for adults only. If you want to make non-alcoholic frosting, use an Irish cream extract or Irish cream syrup made for coffee, which are perfectly acceptable substitutes.
Irish Cream latte frosting is perfect on cupcakes, brownies, chocolate cake, sugar cookies (pictured), or eaten straight off a very large spoon. I love these cookie sandwiches too…because adding another cookie is NEVER a bad thing. Garnished with chocolate covered espresso beans, oh yes!
The recipe is easy. Using an electric mixer, cream together butter, Irish cream, and espresso powder until fluffy. Add confectioners’ sugar, a cup at a time, until the frosting is the desired consistency. That’s it! So easy.
If you like buttercream frosting, try Orange Creamsicle Buttercream with Vanilla Beans or Very Vanilla Buttercream Frosting.

Oh my lordy. This looks amazing. I love love love Baileys. I have to restrain from posting about it too much. Have you tried to Baileys coffee creamer? It’s amazing. So close to alcoholic Baileys but it’s non-alcholic and for coffee, sooo good if you have to go to work :)
I would never throw away desserts. Ever. And getting tipsy on desserts can be great. I just made dark rum oatmeal raisin cookies and was hoping I would :)

Hahaha! I loved this comment Averie. Sounds like we’re two peas in a pod! I drink my coffee black–but if I was going to put something in it, I think it would be Bailey’s coffee creamer!

How do you make buttercream better? You add booze! I really would only need a spoon, but it looks really good on the cookies with the espresso beans too :)
Rachel says
That’s right! ;)
Claire @ Claire K Creations says
Haha I can’t say I wouldn’t like to get drunk on frosting. But imagine the hangover – a regular one combined with a sugar hangover would be rather painful.
Rachel says
Eww, you’re right. That would be rough.
