I am not a crafty person.

Scrapbooking? I did that once.

Printing photos and sticking them in a plain ol’ album? I’m not so great at that either. I did that until E was about 4 months old. And now she’s almost 2 and a half.

Good news for people like me, there are Shutterfly Photo Books. Making a photo book on Shutterfly is the answer to all of my problems.

yawn

Well, not all of them. My jeans still are fitting a bit tight. And there still aren’t enough hours in the day….

BUT! These books make my life easier and I get to stare at photos of my cute kids in a great book format that we can cherish for years to come.

I’ve used other photo sites to create photo books in the past, and I gotta say, Shutterfly’s books are great quality. The pages are heavy-duty and I can tell it will hold up to a lot of page turning. Which is a very, very good thing.

I also love all the options that they have on their site. You can create a simple paperback book all the way up to a padded-cover album. That would make a great wedding album.

Another great thing? These make fantastic gifts. And it is as simple as adding 3 to your cart instead of one. Bam. Christmas shopping for the grandparents? DONE. Shutterfly is always running specials too, if you get on their email list, you’re sure to get a buy one get one free coupon code, or a code for free shipping.

This time around, I was going to try something different and create a recipe book with all of our family favorites. It is still on my to-do list as I think it would be a great keepsake to pass down to my daughter. However, we recently had this cute little addition to our family that I can’t get enough of so I decided to do a photobook with the millions of pictures I have of little N.

Shutterfly now lets you upload photos straight from Instagram and if you’re hooked on Instagram like I am, this is something to be excited about.

I took full advantage of this feature with THREE pages of instagram photos. I finished off my book with these photos and I just love the way it looks and how you can see all of his different expressions on one page.

Have I mentioned how easy they are to make? Drag. Drop. Add text. Or don’t.  Add pages to the end. Add pages to the middle.

Change fonts. Change the color of the font. Change the layout. Change the style. It is all super easy to do and you’re sure to end up with a product that you absolutely love. I have photo books for my kids, obviously, but I also have one with our wedding pictures, one with photos from our honeymoon, I even used one as a guest book for our wedding! I did some pictures, some quotes that are special to us, and then there were blank pages for people to sign and offer words of wisdom. I love it and am so happy I went that way for my guest book.

For family pictures. With all the digital images I take with the camera these days, I hardly print out hard copies and that’s so sad. It’ll be nice to have a photo book filled with family pictures of activities we did. :) It’ll make a nice gift for the Grandparents as well.

I don’t have any kids yet, but my best friend is expecting her first baby in June. I would definitely fill this with her cute baby bump photos (and some when he’s born) and give it to her as a present.
